Allera Partners with Major Private Landowner to Bring Vibrant and Sustainable Community to Cherrybrook

The New South Wales State Government has finalised a plan to transform Cherrybrook into a compact green village within a 5 minute walk of the Cherrybrook Metro Station. The plan, which is a 20-year vision for the area, calls for the creation of a vibrant town centre with retail spaces, amenities, and public spaces that will meet the needs of commuters and locals alike.

The government says that the plan will enhance Cherrybrook’s leafy bushland residential character with new open space, more street trees, and better access for pedestrians and cyclists. It will also guide the development of the wider Cherrybrook Precinct and inform future rezoning and planning controls.

Allera, a leading property developer and manager, is partnering with a private landowner who controls a significant parcel of land within the catchment. Allera is working with the State Government to facilitate a rezoning of land in alignment with the strategy. The company says that the development would create a “vibrant and sustainable new community that would provide much-needed housing to address the current undersupply across Sydney”.

The partnership between Allera and the landowner is a significant step forward in the development of the land within the Cherrybrook Station Precinct. The landowner is a long-term resident of the area, and they are committed to creating a development that is respectful of the community’s heritage and natural environment.

Allera shares this commitment, and the two parties have been working closely together to develop a plan that both meets the needs of the wider community and utilises the State Government’s significant investment into the heavy rail transport infrastructure at Cherrybrook Metro Station.

The final place strategy has now come into effect through a Ministerial Direction requiring rezonings or planning proposals to follow its intent and guidance.
